When Couples Come to Us

When couples come to us

  • One partner is in recovery from substance or process addiction
  • After an affair or the discovery of hidden sexual behavior
  • When trauma, depression or anxiety is straining the relationship
  • After relapse. Read marriage after relapse.
  • Any couple wanting to communicate better under pressure

Our Approach

How we work

Each person, and the relationship, gets real attention.

We start by understanding each person and the relationship. Approaches may include emotionally focused and Gottman informed methods, communication skills and repair work. After betrayal, each partner usually has individual support first.

Partners hurt by hidden sexual behavior can start with betrayal trauma therapy.

Inside Treatment

Couples work inside treatment

Clients in IIP, PHP or IOP can add couples sessions to their plan, and our Family Intensive Weekend brings loved ones in each month.
