Levels of Care
How outpatient care is structured at Heights
Heights Behavioral Health offers a full outpatient continuum in the Houston Heights. Your clinical team matches the level of care to your needs using ASAM criteria and adjusts it as you progress.
Weighing the two most common options? Read our clinician-written guide, PHP vs IOP: which level of care do you need?
Most Intensive
IIP and PHP
Individualized Intensive Programming and Partial Hospitalization offer full-day support on weekdays while you return home each evening.
Structured Support
IOP and Evening IOP
Several sessions a week that fit around work, school, and family, including evening options after work hours.
Ongoing Care
Individual and Group Therapy
Weekly therapy and groups for focused work or for continuing care after a more intensive program.
After the Self-Check
What happens next
Your result is a starting point, not a decision. When you reach out, an admissions coordinator listens, answers questions about schedule and cost, and arranges a full clinical assessment.
From there, your clinical team recommends a level of care and explains it in plain terms. Many people start the same week when it is clinically appropriate.

Common Questions
About the level of care assessment
For guidance about your situation, call admissions at (877) 549-5102.
Is this assessment a diagnosis?
No. It is an educational self-check that suggests a starting point. A licensed clinician makes the actual recommendation during a full clinical assessment.
Are my answers saved or shared?
Your answers stay in your browser and are not stored. If you choose to fill out the follow-up form, only your contact details and the suggested level of care are sent to our admissions team.
How does Heights decide the right level of care?
During a clinical assessment, our team reviews your symptoms, substance use, safety, support at home, and goals using ASAM criteria. We recommend the level that fits and adjust it as you progress.
What if I need more care than outpatient treatment?
We will tell you directly. If medical detox, residential, or inpatient care is needed first, our admissions team helps coordinate a trusted referral and can plan your step-down into outpatient care afterward.
Can I take this for someone I love?
Yes. Answer based on what you see in your loved one, then call admissions. Families often make the first call, and we can guide you on next steps.
What does treatment cost?
Cost depends on the recommended level of care. Heights is private pay and out of network, and we provide superbills. We explain cost in plain terms before treatment begins.
