One-on-One, Customized Around You

The private center of gravity in your care

Individual therapy is a dedicated hour with a clinician who knows your history and tailors the work to you. Because our therapists hold specialized training, we match the approach to the problem rather than fitting you to a single method: trauma reprocessing for some, mood-focused work, process-addiction care, or nervous system regulation for others.

We work one-on-one with anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, sex, love, and pornography addiction through CSAT-led care, gambling and technology addiction, substance use and co-occurring concerns, and the self-worth, identity, relationship, and life-transition work underneath it all.

Individual therapy is available as a standalone therapy package at a weekly cadence, or can anchor a more intensive plan inside IIP, PHP, or IOP, alongside group therapy and family work. Sessions are available in person and virtually.

On Its Own, or Part of a Larger Plan

The right therapist, the right approach

We match you with a master’s-level clinician whose training fits your needs, and we adjust if it is not the right fit. After an ASAM-guided assessment, individual sessions either stand alone at a weekly rhythm or are woven through whichever level of care fits your life, and we are honest about cost and out-of-network benefits from the first conversation.

Common Questions

Individual therapy, answered

If you do not see your question here, call our admissions team at (877) 549-5102 and we will walk you through it.

What specialized therapies do you offer one-on-one?

CSAT for sex and love addiction, EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma and mood disorders, neurofeedback, Somatic Experiencing, and CBT and DBT foundations, matched to your goals by a master’s-level clinician.

Can I do individual therapy without a full program?

Yes. Individual therapy can stand on its own at a weekly cadence, or anchor a more intensive plan. After a brief assessment we recommend what fits and adjust as you progress.

How are clinicians matched to clients?

We match you with a clinician whose specialized training fits your needs, and we will adjust if it is not the right fit. The goal is the right therapist and the right approach for you.

How often are sessions?

Most standalone clients meet weekly. Inside IIP, PHP, or IOP, individual sessions happen more frequently as part of the program. Cadence is set at assessment and adjusted as you progress.

Are sessions available virtually?

Yes. Individual therapy is available in person at our Houston Heights practice and virtually, and many clients use a mix of both.

Is individual therapy confidential?

Completely. Your privacy is protected under HIPAA, and we coordinate with family or other providers only with your written authorization.

How long does therapy take?

It depends on the goals and the depth of the work. Some focused work resolves in months; deeper trauma or addiction work takes longer. We review progress with you openly rather than keeping you in therapy indefinitely.

Does insurance cover individual therapy?

We are a private-pay practice. For clients with out-of-network benefits, we provide detailed superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement, and we explain costs before you commit to anything.

How often should you go to therapy?

Most people start with weekly sessions, which build momentum and give enough time to practice skills between appointments. When symptoms are more intense, sessions may happen more often or inside a program such as IOP. As you improve, sessions can space out. Your therapist sets the cadence with you and adjusts it as you progress.

When can I call and speak with someone?

Our admissions team answers seven days a week, from 8:00 am to 7:30 pm Central Time. Call (877) 549-5102 to talk with a real person about what is going on, your schedule, and whether our programs are the right fit. If you reach out after hours, leave a message or send the consultation form and we will return your call as soon as we open. If this is an emergency, call 911. If you or someone you love is in a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
