Why Heights

A partner you can trust with your clients

When you refer a client, your reputation goes with them. Heights Behavioral Health is built to honor that: individualized, master’s-level outpatient care across a full continuum, deep conditions expertise including dual diagnosis, trauma, and process addictions, and the discretion and responsiveness that referral partners and families expect. Care is customized around the person, not a fixed program length, and your client never feels like a number.

Who We Partner With

Built for the professionals families trust

Referrals come to us from across the treatment ecosystem and beyond it. Whoever sends them, the standard is the same: a warm, fast, coordinated handoff.

The Partners

Who refers to Heights

  • Interventionists and recovery consultants
  • Educational and therapeutic consultants
  • Residential and inpatient centers placing clients into step-down care
  • Private-practice therapists and psychiatrists
  • Concierge physicians and family offices
  • Attorneys, executive coaches, and EAPs
  • Families coordinating care for a loved one

The Experience

What your clients walk into

A boutique practice in the Houston Heights, not a census-driven facility: master’s-level clinicians with specialized training in CSAT, EMDR, CPT, Somatic Experiencing, and neurofeedback; integrated medication management; evening IOP and virtual options that protect careers and school; family programming with open family meetings; and real-world recovery mentoring through our sister practice, Heights Mentoring. ASAM-guided level-of-care matching keeps the recommendation honest, and we refer out when a client needs more than outpatient.

Ready When You Are

Have a client in mind? Let's talk.

One call with admissions answers the clinical and financial questions, confirms fit honestly, and gets the assessment scheduled, often within days.

Our Approach

Collaboration, not endorsement trading

We collaborate with partners rather than trade endorsements, and we keep every plan centered on the individual. If a client needs a higher level of care than outpatient, we say so and help place them, and when a referring therapist wants their client back for ongoing work, we coordinate that return rather than absorbing the relationship. Honest fit is the whole practice: it is why partners refer once, see how it is handled, and keep referring.

Common Questions

For referral partners, answered

If you do not see your question here, call our admissions team at (877) 549-5102 and we will walk you through it.

How do I refer a client to Heights Behavioral Health?

Call (877) 549-5102 or use the confidential referral form on this page. We follow up promptly and, with the client’s consent, coordinate directly with you on the assessment and plan. Please do not include protected health information in the form itself.

How quickly can a referred client be seen?

Quickly. Admissions responds promptly to partner referrals, and a confidential ASAM-guided assessment can usually be scheduled within days, faster when a discharge date is approaching.

Do you provide continuing care after residential treatment?

Yes. Step-down care is one of our core strengths. We coordinate with the residential team before discharge, preserve the individualized experience the client had, and continue the work at home across our levels of care.

How do you keep referral partners informed?

Within the bounds of client consent and privacy law, we share appropriate updates, collaborate on the evolving plan, and coordinate step-down and discharge planning so you stay informed about your client’s progress.

If I am a therapist, will I lose my client?

No. When a referring therapist wants to continue as the ongoing provider, we treat the higher level of care as an episode and coordinate the client’s return to you, with a full clinical handoff. We collaborate; we do not absorb relationships.

Do you accept clients from outside Houston?

Yes. Clients regularly relocate temporarily for step-down care or travel in for our programs, and virtual options extend care beyond Houston where clinically appropriate. We help coordinate the practical side of a transition.

What clients are the right fit, and what do you refer out?

Adults with mental health, substance use, trauma, dual diagnosis, and process addiction concerns who are appropriate for outpatient levels of care. We do not provide medical detox, residential, or inpatient care; when that is what a client needs, we say so and help place them first.

Is care private pay or insurance based?

We are private pay and also work with out-of-network benefits, with detailed superbills provided. We are transparent about cost and coverage with you and the family before anyone commits to care.
