Location sounds like a logistics detail. In outpatient treatment it is a clinical one. A program you attend three to five days a week has to fit inside a real week that already contains a job, a commute, and a family. When it does not, attendance slips first and the whole plan follows.
We are at 1009 Yale St in the Houston Heights, and we chose it deliberately.
The Commute Is Part of the Treatment Plan
If getting to group takes an hour each way through Houston traffic, a three-hour program becomes a five-hour commitment. That math is what quietly ends outpatient treatment. The Heights sits inside the 610 Loop with access from I-10, I-45, and 290, which keeps the trip from the Inner Loop, Garden Oaks, Timbergrove, Oak Forest, River Oaks, Montrose, and Memorial manageable on most days.
Staying in Your Own Life Is the Point of Outpatient Care
Residential treatment removes you from your environment. Outpatient care does the opposite: you practice new skills in the same house, the same job, and the same relationships where the problem lives. That is a real advantage, and it only works if the program is close enough to attend consistently. Our comparison of outpatient and residential care covers when each is the safer choice.
Discretion in a Walkable Neighborhood
Privacy matters to most of the people who call us, particularly professionals whose careers are visible. Our space is designed to feel like a private practice rather than an institution, with a lobby and lounge that do not announce what the building is. Nothing about arriving here identifies why you came.

Adults Only, Outpatient Only, and Honest About Both
We treat adults. We do not provide medical detox or residential care on site. We do offer MAT with buprenorphine and naltrexone, and we coordinate detox referrals when that step is needed first. If a higher level of care is the right answer for you, we would rather tell you on the first call than admit you to the wrong program.
If this is an emergency or you are thinking about harming yourself, call 911, or call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. In Harris County, The Harris Center operates a 24-hour crisis line at 713-970-7000. Heights Behavioral Health is an outpatient program and is not a 24-hour crisis service.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Heights Behavioral Health is at 1009 Yale St, Houston, TX 77008, in the Houston Heights inside the 610 Loop, with access from I-10, I-45, and 290.
Do I have to live in the Heights to attend?
No. Clients come from across the Inner Loop and greater Houston. What matters is whether the commute is sustainable several days a week, which is worth being realistic about before you enroll.
Do you take insurance?
We are a private-pay, out-of-network provider. Some clients use out-of-network benefits to offset part of the cost, and we provide the documentation needed to submit for reimbursement.
Can I keep working while in outpatient treatment?
Usually yes. Our IOP tracks run three or five days a week and our Individualized Intensive Program schedules around real obligations. PHP is the most time-intensive and may require adjusted work hours.
Do you offer telehealth?
We offer virtual family programming, and some services can be delivered remotely. Our core outpatient programming is in person at the Heights location, because group work is more effective in the room.
