YOUNG ADULT PROGRAM

A Pivotal Stage Deserves Specialized Care

The years from late teens into the twenties are full of transition, and they are also when many mental health and addiction patterns first take hold. Young adults are not just older teenagers or younger adults, and generic treatment often misses them. Our program meets young adults where they are: building real coping skills, treating co-occurring conditions, and involving family in a way that supports growing independence. Every plan is customized around the person in front of us.

WHAT WE HELP WITH

Common Reasons Young Adults Come to Us

  • Anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation
  • Alcohol and substance use
  • Gaming, technology, and other behavioral addictions
  • Trauma and difficulty launching into adulthood
  • Co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions

HOW WE WORK WITH YOUNG ADULTS

Skills, Support, and Real Independence

Three things shape how we help young adults move forward.

MEET THEM THERE

Developmentally-Tuned Care

Therapy that speaks to where young adults actually are, building identity, emotional regulation, and the life skills that support independence.

FAMILY MATTERS

Family Involvement & Support

We bring family in thoughtfully, rebuilding communication and healthy boundaries while still respecting a young adult’s growing autonomy.

TREAT IT TOGETHER

Mental Health & Addiction, Together

Anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and gaming or tech overuse are treated in one coordinated, dual diagnosis-forward plan.

LEVELS OF CARE · ASAM CRITERIA

The Right Level of Support

After a comprehensive assessment guided by the ASAM Criteria, a licensed clinician recommends the right level of care, from individual therapy through structured outpatient programming, and adjusts it as the young adult grows and stabilizes.

OUR APPROACH

Why Families Trust Heights With Their Young Adults

We treat young adults with respect and real clinical depth, not as a problem to manage. We address co-occurring conditions together, involve family in a way that builds trust rather than control, and connect treatment to school, work, and independence goals. We are clear about cost and out-of-network benefits up front. And every plan is customized around the young adult, elevated by design and built for lasting change.

Call (877) 549-5102

What ages do you consider young adults?

Our program focuses on adults, with a young-adult track for those in the late-teen-into-twenties stage. We will confirm fit during your assessment.

How are families involved?

Family involvement is a core part of young adult care. We include family in ways that rebuild communication and healthy boundaries while respecting the young adult’s autonomy.

Do you treat gaming or technology addiction in young adults?

Yes. Gaming and technology overuse are common in this group, and we treat them alongside any co-occurring anxiety, depression, or substance use.

Do you take insurance?

We are private pay and also work with out-of-network benefits. We will explain costs and verify your specific benefits before you commit to anything.

Can parents and family attend support sessions?

Yes, and we encourage it. Beyond family therapy, we host evening open family meetings, a welcoming space where parents and loved ones can learn, connect with other families, and find support. Ask us how to join.

Can my young adult keep going to school or work during treatment?

Usually, yes. With flexible outpatient and Evening IOP options, many young adults stay in school or work while in treatment. We build the schedule around their real life.

How much does young adult treatment cost?

It depends on the services and intensity in the customized plan. We are private pay and work with out-of-network benefits, and we will explain costs and verify benefits before you commit to anything.

What if my young adult does not think they need help?

That is common at this age. Call us and we will talk through how to approach it, and how families can find support, including our open family meetings, while your young adult comes around.
