WHAT WE TREAT
Master's-Level Mental Health Care for Adults
Heights Behavioral Health provides outpatient mental health treatment for adults in Houston and The Heights. Our clinicians are licensed, master’s-level professionals who build each plan around the individual rather than a predetermined schedule. Many of the people we work with are navigating more than one concern at once, so our care is dual diagnosis-forward and trauma-informed from the first conversation.
We treat anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, burnout, emotional dysregulation, and the relational and personality concerns that often sit underneath them. When substance use or a behavioral addiction is part of the picture, we treat the whole person rather than a single label. Care is elevated by design and customized around the person.

OUR APPROACH
How We Approach Treatment
Care begins with a thorough assessment, not an intake checklist. From there, guided by ASAM criteria, we recommend a level of care and a plan that fits both the clinical picture and the person’s life. Evidence-based modalities are chosen for what each person needs, including CBT, DBT, CPT, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing, delivered through individual and group work with family involvement when it helps.
We do not promise outcomes. We commit to individualized, evidence-based care and to being clear and honest about cost and coverage at every step.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Mental Health Care, Answered
If you do not see your question here, call our admissions team and we will walk you through it.
What mental health conditions do you treat?
We provide outpatient treatment for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, burnout, and emotional dysregulation in adults, including when these occur alongside substance use or a behavioral addiction.
Do you offer different levels of care?
Yes. We offer Individualized Intensive Programming, PHP, IOP, and an evening IOP option. After an assessment guided by ASAM criteria, we recommend the level that fits your needs and adjust as you stabilize.
Do you treat mental health and addiction together?
Yes. Our care is dual diagnosis-forward, so co-occurring mental health and substance use or behavioral addiction are treated together in one individualized plan.
Do you take insurance?
We are private pay and also work with out-of-network benefits. We will explain costs and verify your specific benefits before you commit to anything.
Do I need a diagnosis to start mental health treatment?
No. You do not need a formal diagnosis or a referral to reach out. We begin with an assessment, and a licensed clinician helps clarify what is going on and what will help.
Is outpatient treatment enough for depression or anxiety?
For many people, yes. Structured outpatient care is effective for depression, anxiety, and related conditions. After an ASAM-guided assessment, we recommend the right intensity and adjust as you improve.
How much does mental health treatment cost without insurance?
Cost depends on the services in your customized plan. We are private pay and work with out-of-network benefits, and we can provide documentation to submit to your insurer. We will explain costs clearly before you commit to anything.
Do you offer virtual or telehealth therapy?
Yes. Many individual sessions and groups are available virtually, so you can stay consistent in care around work, school, and family.
