SUBSTANCE USE
Treatment That Treats the Person, Not Just the Substance
Substance use rarely stands alone. Underneath it there is often trauma, anxiety, depression, or pain that the substance was trying to quiet. We are strong in substance use care, and we treat what is driving it at the same time. After a thorough assessment, a licensed clinician designs a plan around your history, your goals, and your life, then adjusts it as you progress. Care is delivered in a calm, private setting and customized at every step.

LEVELS OF CARE · ASAM CRITERIA
The Right Level of Care, and Honest About Detox
After a comprehensive assessment guided by the ASAM Criteria, a licensed clinician recommends the level of care that fits, from Individualized Intensive Programming through PHP, IOP, and ongoing outpatient therapy. We are an outpatient practice and do not provide medical detox. If detox is needed first, we help coordinate a safe referral and continue your care the moment you are ready.
OUR APPROACH
Why People Choose Heights for Substance Use Care
We keep caseloads thoughtful so your clinician actually knows you. We treat co-occurring mental health conditions in the same plan rather than passing you between providers. We involve family when it helps, and we are clear and honest about cost and out-of-network benefits before you commit to anything. Most of all, your plan is customized around you, your history, your goals, and the life you are building, not a one-size-fits-all program.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Substance Use, Answered
If you do not see your question here, call our admissions team and we will walk you through it.
Do you provide medical detox?
No. We are an outpatient practice and do not provide medical detox. If detox is needed first, we help coordinate a safe referral and resume your care as soon as you are ready.
Do you treat mental health conditions too?
Yes. Many people we see have co-occurring anxiety, depression, or trauma. Our care is dual diagnosis-forward, so we treat the substance use and the mental health condition together in one plan.
What levels of care do you offer?
We offer outpatient levels of care guided by the ASAM Criteria, including Individualized Intensive Programming, PHP, IOP, and ongoing outpatient therapy, and we step you up or down as your needs change.
Do you take insurance?
We are private pay and also work with out-of-network benefits. We will explain costs and verify your specific benefits before you commit to anything.
How do I help a loved one who is resistant to treatment?
Start by reaching out yourself. We will talk through how to approach the conversation and how to support them while they decide. We also host evening open family meetings, a welcoming space where families can learn and find support, even before a loved one is ready.
How much does outpatient drug and alcohol treatment cost?
Cost depends on the services and intensity in your custom plan. We are private pay and work with out-of-network benefits, and we can provide documentation to submit to your insurer. We will explain costs clearly and verify your benefits before you commit to anything.
Do you offer virtual or telehealth sessions?
Yes. Many of our groups and individual sessions are available virtually, so you can stay consistent in treatment around work, school, and family. We will help you find the right mix of in-person and online care.
How long does outpatient treatment take?
There is no fixed length. Because your plan is customized, we start where you need to and step you up or down as you progress. Some people stay weeks, others continue with lighter support for months.
