Conditions We Treat
Master's-level behavioral health care in Houston
Heights Behavioral Health is staffed exclusively by master’s-level clinicians. Outpatient mental health treatment in Houston is our foundation. We treat the whole person: the symptom, the driver beneath it, and the life you are building in recovery.
Mental health first, because recovery starts there
Our Main Specialty
Mental Health Treatment
Mental health is the foundation of everything we do. Our master’s-level clinicians treat depression, anxiety, panic and OCD, trauma and PTSD, and bipolar and mood disorders, working to understand the patterns underneath so change actually lasts.
Years of Experience
Substance Use Treatment
We have specialized in substance use for years and treat alcohol and drug dependence as part of the whole person. Because addiction almost always begins somewhere, we treat the substance use and the mental health driving it together, as integrated dual diagnosis treatment in Houston.
Our Specialty Focus
Behavioral addictions, treated with the same depth
Behavioral and process addictions are where Heights Behavioral Health stands apart: private, structured, judgment-free outpatient care that also treats the anxiety, depression, and trauma underneath the behavior.
Process Addiction
Gambling Addiction
Evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment for problem gambling and sports betting, addressing the chasing-losses cycle, impulsivity, and the emotional drivers that fuel it.
CSAT-Led Care
Sex & Love Addiction
Confidential care for compulsive sexual behavior, pornography use that feels out of control, and intimacy patterns, led by a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist.
Digital Wellness
Technology & Internet Addiction
Structured support for compulsive screen, gaming, and internet use, rebuilding regulation, focus, and healthy routines while treating the stress underneath.
Levels of Care
A full continuum, anchored by our flagship program
Every client begins with a clinical assessment. We recommend the right level of care, informed by ASAM criteria and tailored to the individual, then step up or down with the same team and the same plan as needs change. Whether that means a partial hospitalization program in Houston, an intensive outpatient program in Houston, or weekly therapy, the plan is built around you.
Most Structured
Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
Our most structured standard level, with intensive programming multiple hours per day, several days per week, while living at home.
Intensive
Intensive Outpatient (IOP 5-Day)
Focused therapy five days per week for clients stepping down from PHP or who need consistent daily structure.
Flexible
Intensive Outpatient (IOP 3-Day)
A three-day schedule that balances meaningful treatment with work, school, and family responsibilities.
After Hours
Evening IOP
Intensive outpatient programming scheduled in the evenings for working professionals who cannot step away during the day.
Continuing Care
Outpatient (OP)
Lower-intensity weekly support for maintenance, relapse prevention, and sustained long-term growth.
Tailored
Custom Service Packages
Bundled, customized service packages for clients who want care shaped entirely around their goals, schedule, and stage of recovery.
Long-Term Care
Therapy & Mentoring Packages
Ongoing individual and group therapy, with mentoring support through Heights Mentoring, for sustained, long-term recovery.

Deeper therapeutic work as structure is reintroduced.
Phase III
Reintegration with continuing care that protects recovery.

Common Questions
Treatment, payment, and getting started
If you do not see your question here, call our admissions team at (877) 549-5102 and we will walk you through it.
How does payment work, and do you offer private pay?
Heights Behavioral Health is a private-pay practice with transparent pricing. For clients with out-of-network benefits, we provide detailed superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Call (877) 549-5102 and our admissions team will walk you through the options.
Who do you treat?
Heights Behavioral Health treats adults 18 and older with mental health conditions, substance use, or co-occurring disorders. Care is structured outpatient, so clients live at home while in treatment.
How do I get started?
Call our admissions team for a confidential conversation. We complete a clinical assessment, recommend the right level of care, and can often begin treatment within days.
What levels of care do you offer?
We offer a full outpatient continuum: our flagship Individualized Intensive Program (IIP), then Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) on five-day, three-day, and evening schedules, and Outpatient (OP), plus custom service and therapy packages for long-term care. After an assessment, we recommend the right starting point and adjust as you progress.
Do you treat behavioral or process addictions?
Yes. Process and behavioral addictions are a core specialty. We provide structured, judgment-free outpatient treatment for gambling addiction, sex and love addiction, compulsive pornography use, and technology or internet addiction, often alongside the anxiety, depression, or trauma underneath them. Our co-founder is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT).
Are your therapists licensed, and what are their credentials?
Every clinician at Heights Behavioral Health is master’s-level and licensed. Care is delivered by licensed therapists and individualized through clinical assessment, with leadership from a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist.
What is the Individualized Intensive Program (IIP)?
IIP is our flagship level of care: a highly personalized, high-intensity outpatient plan built around you rather than a fixed template. Informed by ASAM levels of care, it moves through three structured phases, stepping intensity down as stability builds, while you keep the same clinical team throughout.
Can I keep working or going to school during treatment?
Yes. Because our programs are outpatient, many clients continue working or attending school. We offer five-day, three-day, and evening IOP schedules so treatment can fit around your responsibilities while still providing real structure.
Do you involve family in treatment?
When clinically appropriate and with the client’s consent, we involve family through education, communication support, and coaching, because recovery is stronger when the people closest to you understand how to help.
Is treatment confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is protected under HIPAA, and we coordinate with family, providers, and referral sources only with your written authorization.
Where are you located?
We are located at 1009 Yale Street in The Heights, Houston, Texas, and serve the greater Houston area.
What should I do in a mental health crisis or emergency?
If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, call 911. If you are in crisis or thinking about self-harm, call or text 988 in the U.S. to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Heights Behavioral Health provides scheduled outpatient care and is not an emergency or crisis service.
What is outpatient treatment?
Outpatient treatment is structured mental health or addiction care that you attend while living at home. Depending on what you need, it ranges from weekly therapy to several hours a day, several days a week, in a program such as IOP or PHP. At Heights, every plan begins with a clinical assessment so the level of care matches your needs.
What is the difference between outpatient and inpatient rehab?
Inpatient or residential rehab means living at a facility around the clock. Outpatient rehab means you attend scheduled treatment and return home each day, so you can keep up with work, school, and family. Outpatient care fits many adults. When someone needs a higher level of care first, such as medical detox or residential treatment, we say so directly and help coordinate a trusted referral.
When can I call and speak with someone?
Our admissions team answers seven days a week, from 8:00 am to 7:30 pm Central Time. Call (877) 549-5102 to talk with a real person about what is going on, your schedule, and whether our programs are the right fit. If you reach out after hours, leave a message or send the consultation form and we will return your call as soon as we open. If this is an emergency, call 911. If you or someone you love is in a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
